I have a crack in my exterior wall and was advised to hire a Helefix-approved contractor to install an expansion joint.

I'm curious if Helefix is the best option, or if there are other competitors and alternative solutions available in this field?

You can easily diy it yourself. Its not a hard job.

You need to be careful what you specify. Helifix, and any similar helical bar tie system are a rigid solution and wont deal with any future expansion/contraction of the wall.

Has this been diagnosed by a structural engineer? If you want an expansion joint, with slip ties, Helifix/Helibars are not for you.

Helefix have a system with debonding sleeves now for retro movement joints.
Yes, but it was just curious why the OP was recommended to go for a Helifix installer/product which are mainly specified for crack stitching.

If the OP is going through the NHBC they will want a Helefix approved contractor to do the work.
