Hi Guys,
New to this, I'm working on my cellar at the moment, the house is a victorian terrace and has brick footings. I'm digging 1 foot below these at the moment to provide enough head room after a concrete screed is poured and some polystyrene is laid after that.
I'm worried about the footings, i'm digging upto them, but not underneath them.
Does anyone know what I need to do to make sure the soil underneath the footings stays where it is, I was thinking about some kind of metal sheeting that could be hammered down to keep it in place, underpinning sounds too expensive, what would you do?
Thanks very much
