Sorry, I didn't explain fully. I have a flow activated pump on the hot water feed for the shower. I guess that is enough for it to operate correctly. All of my problems have come since I had my bathroom redone. The fitters and 'Plumber' turned out to be off duty firemen, so if anything is not standard, I suppose that's why.

your lucky you can get the pump to kick in and the cold doesn't over ride the hot.
will the pump kick in where ever the temp is set or do you have to have it set near hot for it to kick in ?
