Hi all,
We have just had an old open fireplace removed and a new wood burning stove fitted. The new hearth doesn't protrude as far into the room as the old fireplace did.
I am left with a gap about 1ft x 4ft of exposed concrete floor. The existing floor seems to have about an inch thick layer of hard black material over the concrete. This is missing where the original fireplace hearth was.
How do i fill this gap and do i need to fit a dpm in underneath it?
Thanks
