Help - my valliant boiler has problems

I have a valliant combination boiler (possibly turbomax?). It's 18 months old and fitted by a mate of a mate so no guarantee.

Has been working perfectly, however, today the hot water does not appear to be heating up properly. It's definately warm - but not hot.

What's even stranger is, when I run the shower which has the hot and cold water pipe running to it, but has it's own thermostat, and then I run the hot taps - they are boiling hot.

This does not make sense??

Any ideas?

Can anyone recommend good reliable plumbers in the Eastleigh / Southampton area??

Id hazard a guess at the hw heat exchanger. When you run a hot tap does the boiler temp increase V quickly up abouve 70deg.

Blocking hw heat exchanger is typical of a poorly installed boiler / dirty system
