Help needed with Neutral to Earth short

Yes it does dissapear with a bulb connected, so it looks like there is not a problem, and the bulb that blew must have blown for no reason, cheers.

Modern digital multimeters have very high input impedances and that means that extremely high impedance sources (i.e. capacitively or loosely inductive coupled) will present as a reading on them - the input impedance is too high to 'damp' the spurious reading.

Bring back the moving coil, I say :p

You might want to Google the meaning of 'Occam's Razor' by the way ;)
