Help Please!!!!! My new garage roof leaking

Hi there

I have just had a new roof and it has only been sealed arround the side with cement. Could you please take a look at my pictures (below) and tell me what is wrong.
The rain is coming in and has already ruined all my ebay packaging items that I store in there.
I had it changed because the old one was asbestos but it was better than this one so it seems at least it did no leak.
Camera Has wrong date 2007 not 2006

Mortar is not sufficient in this instance, and there should be a flashing at the abutment with the walls.

The mortar will just crack, and as it is, it is a bodge.

Call the people back to do a proper job - and it should not cost you any more money as it is custom and practice to seal a roof at the edges and they sould have allowed for this in their quote

Also, you probably need some covering on the parapet walls (the bit of wall above the roof) as this is a potential source of water ingress too

They should have cut a grove in the wall and installed a flashing in to it, sealed it and dressed the flashing over the new sheets and not bothered with the sand and cement which is often not very good at this sort of thing. Also if you look at the rhs of the wall you will see that the edge of the sheet rolls down and it should have been trimmed so that it rolls up. Hope it helps

I went down to my local roof suppliers today and they also confirmed from the photo that it was a bodge.

Now I can go back to my roofer with cofidence and tell him so.

hi lorraine just another point ,on the one photo the sheets have been cut on an angle with the abutment, even if a lead flashing is used water will run off the end of the corrugations directly inside the building.the only way to correct this is to install a gutter along this edge this will require the sheets to be removed also there does not seem to be anywhere near enough fixings http://www.avsp55.dsl.pipex.com/images/roof2.jpg
