Help required: how to get at the washer(?) on this shower?:/

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help?

We have an old mixer shower, that is starting to drip. I'm assuming we need to change the washer? Unfortunately we can't work out how to get at the washer.

A couple of pictures appear below. There is a small hole in the side of the tap that has a screw inside that can be removed easily. However, after that we (and the tap) are stuck.

Does anyone know how to remove the top to get inside?

Flick the centre cap out and all shall be revealed

Aha! and (Doh!)

Very deep down there is what looks like the head of a screw.

Sadly. I'm stuck again.

I undid the screw (mentioned above) and still can't remove the tap bit.

I have no idea how to get to the washer on this

any help appreciated ...
