Hi, i have put my new 3 doors up in my house, all went fine till my last door, it is on and swinging but when i go to close it, it stops then opens again but none of my other door have done this they have closed the proper way Any Help Would Be Nice, Ray
check the plumb of the lining/frame,then check to see if it is inwind,
hard to explain how to do this, but basically open door step back and to the side and try and line up the outside edge with the inside edge of the opposite side.PHEW
try and gauge the distance all the way down,if it looks ok then its not in wind.
if none of the above work,PUT a bloody door closure on it and adjust it to slam.JOBS a good en.
Hinge misalignment sounds likely but also the door may be binding on the stop (not the frame) forcing it back open, check for a consistent gap with a credit card when in the closed position. The other alternative is air movement (a draught), for this a concealed spring chain closer (try doorchic.co.uk) might help as suggested previously, perhaps with a door vent if necessary.
