Am re boarding kitchen with foil backed boards and skimping its 2.2m x 3.7m and above is a bathroom. At the same time I plan to put insulation in to mitigate any chance of condensation forming on the kitchen ceiling.
Currently it has plastic t+g cladding suspended 100mm below the original ceiling and there is no condensation but thinking there might be when I have done the new ceiling as above is a colder space between the joists compared to the kitchen. I will have a good extractor fan and we like to cook.
Will be using rockwool or knauf slabs would 50mm be enough do you think - better than nothing or wast of time
Might even split 100mm insulation slabs down to 50mm
