We had a flood in bathroom and have had to redo entire bathroom. The copper water pipes in tub area were kept and not leaking however, when I took old tub/shower unit out and have had to put drywall in, the knob (hot/cold handle) where the tub (one piece unit) goes sticks out too far. I guess the old tub was indented around the edges but now the new walls will force me to "push" the pipes in to accomodate the new wall. Will this hurt the pipes? They will have to be pushed in about 1 1-1/2 inches. There would be pressure on them but they are not leaking currently. Would this make them leak in the future? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!!!
