help with foundations

A fekin lot neva counted them though  . we had 4 of us and 5 barrows so it was a constant rotation we actually had 4.8 metres shifted in that time but knew the driver and he only charged for the 4.2.
Loads of companies about that now do it that way so a few phone calls from yellow pages and they should give you a price then organise a few fit mates as it is heavy work, and as you get nearly finshed have one leveling it all out

Right, just come bac from speaking to one of these companies. It's £125 for the first cube, the £75 thereafter. so £350 for 4 cubic's.

The chap said his boss would give a discount for cash. The have a computer system so only charged for what we need, and they also offer a free wheelbarrow service, where they wheel it to where it is needed as well, so all I will have to do is level it out.

I dug a small hole to check the soil.

Up to 400mm down its was loose soil, after that it seemed to be like a sand coloured soil.

How do you know when to stop and whats good soil?

I think the 600 - 800mm depth should be fine, the soil seems good at this level in terms on solidity and stability
