Can anyone recommend a good set of driving lamps I can put on a 1998 Honda CRV? I heard Hella were good but they seem a bit pricy.

The normal lights aren't very powerful so I want to add some lighting at the front that I can use all the time, not like extra fog lamps.

Can I do that though? The bulbs in there at the moment is whats recommended in the user manual. I'm worried that if I use a higher wattage the fitting might overheat or the fuse'l blow. I asked in my local Halfords and the bloke said I should stick with what I've got.

I have just swapped to Halfords EB Bulbs, same wattage, made a big difference to the Astra's lights

Yep its the standard H4 bulbs in there. I tried a couple of the links that's been suggested and came up with the following H4s

H4 Osram Night Breaker +90% 12v 60/55w
H4 Ring Xenon Max + 90% 12v 60/55w
H4 Philips X-treme Power +80% bulbs
H4 Osram Silverstar 50% bulbs

The Xenon's look good but can I really use these without blowing fuse and other things. I was told that Xenons needed a special casing because of the heat they generate?
