I have a Hoover W/D performa 1100 machine about 8 years old but not heavily used. The cycle is stopping mid way and not spin drying, leaving clothes sopping wet. Although you can manually turn the dial to 7 to fast spin dry which drys and empties the water. I thought that it was maybe because I overloaded it once. Anyway having read about a cut out switch I removed the lid but couldn't find it. I was later advised that this model does not possess one. Neither does it have an accessible filter which could be checked and cleaned. Any suggestions please.

Check that you don't have rinse hold (or some derivative) selected.
This would allow the machine to complete the wash, do the rinses and stop at the final rinse full of water.
