Hot point washing machine won't spin

Hi there I hope someone can help!

I have a hot point vma37 1400 which all of a sudden won't spin. It drains and starts the program but then the machine just won't spin. Found my last wash in there soaked and realised it hadn't spun. No lights are flashing.

Have taken the clothes out and tried repeatedly to spin but to no avail. Opened the back and the belt is on there and works when I manually spin the drum by hand.

Has anyone got any tips on how it can be fixed?

Check the motor brushes first.

Thanks. Where are the brushes? we have opened the back and the top.

Down the back on the motor. YouTube shows how to do it.
