Hot water cylinder barely warm

Hi

When I switch my heating on for 45 mins for hot water only the pipe going into water cylinder is piping hot but water in cylinder is only bearly warming up.

Any ideas?

Not sure but I know the fire back boiler has had 2 valve switched off as it was taking the heat rather than pushing heat to rads.

I don't intent to lite fire just deciding if I should remove the back boiler
 
Yes, presuming that's the return from the cylinder to the boiler. Has this now happened since the valves were shut down on the BB? Is this gravity fed, bit small but never the less. Who shut down the valves and did it stopped working after they did that, if so I'd get them back and get them to sort it.

Take the red insulation off of the cylinder or pull it back as far as and clear everything away to reveal as much of the cylinder and pipework as possible and take a couple more pics, the whole install and closer up of each section of pipework

Lets have a look at everything first ... show us localised pics of all the pipes entering/exiting the cylinder and some a little further out, leave that valve shut just now.
