Hot water in header tank

I recently had a 35kW boiler fitted. The system is not of the sealed type and the boiler is topped up from a small header tank in the loft.

I have noticed that the water in this tank is getting hot and this is not coming from the expansion pipe.

I would think it must be due to heat transfer through the water from the boiler.

Is this normal ?
