I have checked the pressure to the gas valve which is actually 30mb!
The burner pressure is not givin a big reading approx 1mb although im not sure if this boiler has a zero govner, (i think not)

You think right!

What is the working pressure? (incoming supply with burner on)

What is the burner pressure? (the test point above the one you've just tested with burner on)

What is the low gas burner pressure set to? (pull off one of the black leads with burner on)

i will re check again today,
when i checked yesterday working pressure was about 30mb (top of the gauge)
The burner pressure was about 2mb (although the burner appears to be on full this however may not be the case)
I couldnt get the boiler to fire with one of the black leads off, should i remove it once the boiler has fired?

Your min/max gas settings are way out. Get a corgi in to set boiler gas pressures up.

If burner still does not go to max burn with hot tap on full, then
1. modureg is shot
2. P.C.B is shot (most likely)

Call National grid (transco)
They'll want your Corgi Reg No.

This is OK for low pressure

You need to set the gas valve up on high gas 13mbar, then pull one of the leads off and set low gas.

done some checks and these are the results
MODUREG TESTS
CH On Max Temp = 10.54v DC
CH On Min Temp = 1.47v DC

HW On Max = 10.69v DC
HW On Min = 10.8v DC (although crept up from 4 slowly)

GAS VALVE TESTS (HOT TAP ON FULL) 9 L/P/M
The standing incoming pressure 30mb
BURNER PRESSURE MAX = 1mb
BURNER PRESSURE MIN = 1mb (With modureg lead off)

The 2 nuts which adjust the pressure dont do anything at all

WHat are the resistances of the gas valve coils (all 3 of em)?

The two on the black bit are connected between pins 1 and 2, and 4 and 5.

Does the D shaped plastic black part have 401 moulded into it?

What voltage is the mod coil, by the way (written on its bracket like "Max 17 ==")

The black D shaper plastic does have 401 printed on it.

voltage of mod coil is 15v Max

Im not sure how to check the resistance of the mod coils im afraid.

I have just tried a brand new PCB which has made no difference at all so guess thats out the equation.

What have you got in mind?

I had this exact same problem and the cure was to replace the pcb.

I had replaced DHW HE and thermistors. Changed the pcb and it worked fine

I tried a new PCB and it hasnt made any difference, can anyone explain why the burner pressure isnt changing when i adjust the 2 nuts to the front of the gas valve?

Working pressure should be 20mbar at boiler inlet taps on full

You,ve either got a blockage in your gas supply or a faulty govenor ;)

checked working pressure @ boiler and meter and its 2.5 at meter and 2.0 at appliance.

therefore i guess i should ring transco!

Any one agree with this... it could be the one!!
