hot water tank hot at top and cool at bottom?

Sarahbee please answer following so I/ we can understand better whats going on

i have turned the pump around

1)Is the arrow on the pump now pointing along the pipework towards the boiler flow connection as shown on the cylinder pic above :?:

2) Could you tell me what other things there are between your pump and your flow connection on the cylinder. :?:
I expect you to reply with one or more of the following:-
Diverter valve [box with a wire connected and 3 pipes going into it]
zone valve [box with a wire connected and 2 pipes going into it]
de-aerator [A thing with 4 pipes going into it]
By-Pass [A tee which leads to a valve that goes to the return pipe]

3)Have you tried altering your pump speed :?: and what speed is it set to?

4)What number is your boiler stat set to :?: What is the highest number you can set it to?

5) Is there a cylinder stat and what temp is that set to :?:

Slugbabydotcom, i have turned my pump up today (saturday) to the highest setting and let it run like that for a couple of hours and i seem to have got rid of the airlock now and the hot water tank is much hotter at the bottom. I would like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who has taken a interest in this problem and i dont know where i would be without the help from you guys xxx :D
