Hi

I have just replaced my Capacitor on my Hotpoint Aquarius, as the drum stopped working.

However now I have it running again another fault appeared. It does appear not to have any warm air heat coming out of it.

I check the heat element at the back & they are not getting hot.

I thought I read somewhere that there is a safety heat cut out & that system has to be reset if there is a Capictor failure?

Any ideas how I do this?

thanks

Above the element there should be two thermostats,if you take them off, one of them will have the disc on the underside concaved inwards, you need to reset that one.Sometimes there is a hole on the other side or a blob of paint you can stick a pin through.

OK, I remember seeing those discs now when I took the element off.

thanks

'assuhors', I'm replying to an old post (see above), but wanted to thank you for advice you gave that previous poster. My Hotpoint dryer was doing everything but heating, so I followed your instructions about resetting the thermostat. I gently pushed a needle into a little hole in the back of one of the discs, heard a little click, put it all back together and was delighted when it did the trick.

You're a star!
