Hotpoint Aquaruis 1000 not spinning

Hi, wonder if anyone can help.

My washing machine has stopped spinning. Everything else works to my knowledge, clothes wash drum goes around. Just when it gets to the spin cycle it doesn't!

I've taken the top off and checked the belt is still on (it is) Reading up a bit on the internet, could it be the brushes? If so please can I have some advice on how to fix the problem please.

I do apologise. I saw that a few minutes after I posted this topic.

Still, I didn't waste anybody's time but my own.

Should say I took the brushes out of the motor and just gave them a pull and wipe, put them in again and the spin worked. Shall be keeping a close eye for the next few washes. At least I know it won't cost the earth for me to buy new ones and fit them.
