Just had my condenser fan motor go on my troublesome mistral plus frost free. Basically was making one hell of a screetching noise, whipped it out and it wouldn't spin without persuasion. Bloody hot too! anyway took the motor apart and the bearings were bone dry and had a lot of grit in there, cleaned out with some WD40 and greased it up and seemed to be spinning more freely, however there were some burn marks on the actual coils/plastic housing so I'm pretty sure this is on its way out now. Well fitted the motor back after the DIY refurb and now spinning much smoother.

Question is I'm pretty sure this wont last much longer and to save heartache was going to replace it with a spankers new one, however these seem to cost a fortune!? I'm pretty sure these are standard units? Any places online that do cheap generic ones or refurbs perhaps?

Cheers
