Hotpoint dci450 slimline dishwasher not drying

Hi my dishwasher DC1450 has just developed a fault of not drying the dishes. It sounds to me like the heating element? Is this easy to change? and has anyone got any instructions on how to do this ?
Other symptoms - the soap tablet does not dissolve properly and there are no warning codes displayed.

Check the reading on the heater before u change it. Set meter to ohms

I wasn't sure how to check the meter reading, so I replaced the heating element at a cost of £50, alas the dishwasher is still not drying the dishes.
I would appreciate any suggestions on what the cause of the problem could be and any solutions.
