Hi all

This washing machine was working fine, but then suddenly tripped the power, and is not working at all.
The power to the machine is fine, but there is no response what so ever to any input.

I have done a little research on this, but what could it be do you reckon? Maybe heating element, motor bushes?

I await in anticipation!

Thanks very much

Tony

Not enough information I'm afraid. Any lights? Does the door lock? etc.
Provide as much information as possible.

Hi sorry about that!

The door is locked and the power 'on' light is on too.

When the machine stopped working it started to allow water into the detergent drawer, then stopped suddenly.

All that is happening now, is light is on, door is locked, and there is a hum sound coming from the machine.

Hope that helps a bit more!
Thankyou for your time

The hum could be the inlet valve not opening. You could swap the inlet valves over to verify this.

Well B***er me

The machine has started working again

Totally weired...possible loose wiring?

Thanks sleepy head...what is involved with unsticking the valve? Simply replace it? Is it the water valve? Sorry i know nothing about washing machines! Also, would the stuck valve account for the machine tripping the power? Cheers

Normally I'd expect the heater or motor to cause the tripping. If it's stopped doing it you'll have to wait till the part fails to find the cause.
If the inlet valve sticks again I'd just replace it.

Thankyou very much sleepy head.

If and when the part fails, no doubt i shall be right back here to drain on your reserves again!

Cheers

Tony
