Hotpoint WD440g all lights flashing

All the display lights are flashing continously on power-on and it doesn't start the wash cycle, no reaction to on/off button or start/cancel.
It's been working ok, sometimes the lights flash like this for a while then it starts, but not this time.
No clues in the user manual. Is it broken or am I doing something wrong.
Can anyone help please?

Many thanks Rocks, after reading similar posts did check the connectors seemend secure and no wire breaks while I had the back off, hadn't got as far as the pcb. Will wait for daylight.
