Hotpoint wma 48, help please?

Hi, A newbie here,

I have a hotpoint wma 48, it has decided to go horribly wrong!!! LOL

Basically it started spewing water out of the detergent drawer like something out of the exorsist!!!!

Then it wouldn't drain any water from the machine, and wouldn't end the program it was on.

I have managed to get the washing out of the machine, but the machine is still full of water.


Any ideas??? Is it dead????!!!!

By spewing water out I assume you mean the machine was filling up so much it was coming out of the drawer.

Sounds like a blocked/faulty pressure switch or circuit board.

Do you have alot of gunge around the door seal where if meets the drum.

Switch off the power
Remove the top and locate a circular object with wires on it and a pipe going down the side of the drum.

Remove the pipe and blow down it them blow into the pressure switch. you should hear it click a couple of times. (low fill, fill, overfill normally if only one fitted)

Check the filter pump at the back it will be blocked.
