hotpoint wma 58 lacks water

Ive got a hotpoint wma 58 which doesnt seem to let in much water, clothes not coming out clean & sometimes seem fairly dry. Machine is used mainly on the usual 40 non fast coloured setting, set at full load max spin etc. Also same problem on other wash settings. Any ideas please
