Hi all.
I have a Potterton Housewarmer mainflame, problem is, is that the red LED comes on if it doesn't fire up after 30 retries (30 tics). It then has to be MANUALLY reset by the push of the reset button. This is obviously a pain the arse if it fails to come on in the early hours.

Someone did say something about it being a ventilation problem????

Please help, I am a complete novice at this.....oh and we have only been at this property for two weeks now (just moved).

Thanks.

Is this a backboiler?

In any case look at the pilot when it tries to fire, there should be a good strong spark, and the pilot should just envelope the spark area when it lights (just before the main burner).

It may be cured by having the boiler serviced, though you may have to have some ventilation installed at the same time as standards have changed recently and the open flued boiler is being squeezed out of existance (about time too!)
