How are plastic downpipes joined?

I dont think Pros use any solvent, just rely on the tight fitting brackets, I have seen a Stainless steel self tapper used through the brkt into the downcomer.

I am not disagreeing with markie but having just (last year) had all my gutters & facias done No solvent was used.

don't need the solvent weld, just properly fixed, snug fitting down pipe clips.

guttering is designed to be unclipped and cleaned or painted behind.

You don't need any solvent with the guttering apart from the down pipe from the hopper, and the facia only needs it when you have an jointing strip to hide the join between 2 bits of facia unless you use the nails with the plastic heads.

Thanks guys

This was a nice easy job, the hardest part was cutting the pipe straight.
