How can you play a wmv downloaded from the BBC after 30 days

The BBC says that you have 30 days to watch a wmv downloaded from their iPlayer site before they "expire". Does that mean that there is some software attached to the video that prevents you watching it after 30 days?

If so, is there any way to override that software?

I used to have a free download that stored BBC "listen again" programs as MP3 files, they don't expire. I can't find the app now.

There's a later version but it won't install on my (Snow Leopard) Mac so try this version first.
