I need to move some central heating pipes. I have a Worcester 280 RSF combination boiler. No header tank so a sealed Unit. Can I just turn off at the mains and drain the system and then move the pipes. The pipes are to an upstairs radiator. :(

Just put a suitably sized hose onto a drain point lower than the Rads you are working on and drain. On completion one then has to refill the system at the boiler using the flexible filler. Fill to around 1.5 bar and visit rads removing air naturally keeping the system filled; for as you relese air, so you release pressure.
As your knowledge appear on the very limited side perhaps it would be a good idea to have a Proffessional do the job?
