Me again!

Okay - so Plan B is to board up my fireplace (including a vent) and plaster, then hang a wall-mounted fire.

Next question (which for some reason I cann't find the answer to online) is how do I hide the wiring for the wall-mounted fire? Are you supposed to channel grooves into the wall? Am stumped.

Any help much appreciated.

Ta! :p

Hi, if you mean an electric fire I just fitted one meself inside a marble surround and back panel. I wired a fused spur from a ring mains socket, and then fed the supply cable for the fireplace through a channel in the wall, inside an oval conduit. It means there is a flush finish and no cables showing which allows for a professional looking installation.

Thanks - will have a look through my DIY book and see if I can manage that myself!
