Do you know what a phobia means????

Do you know what xenophobia means?

"Definition of xenophobia in English:"
"Dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries."

during the Brexit campaigns, some of the anti-EU campaigners on these forums displayed striking fear of foreigners, and it was also exploited by false stories circulated by the Leavers.

For example this lie:

these stories certainly seem to have worked on the Quitlings.

Care to elaborate.

. Its was something we were allowed to do years back. Joke
Sorry I'm getting sentimental.

It's our culture.

Standing at a bus stop in Tel Aviv I asked the fella standing next to me.
"what times the bus due"
He didn't find me funny either.

How does that follow from the definition of phobia in the same dictionary?

"An extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something."

I don't think the Oxford Dictionary is very reliable these days. They far too soon alter definitions to the popular incorrect usage.

They could, of course, be part of the politics of confusion.

are you going to tell us that in your opinion, in Britain today, English-speaking people to not understand the term Xenophobia do mean "Dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries?"

In your estimation, what proportion of the population, in Britain today, of English-speaking people, can understand and translate the Greek word ξένος ?

How would you translate the word "stranger" into Greek?

Do you have an answer to my question?

In your estimation, what proportion of the population, in Britain today, of English-speaking people, can understand and translate the Greek word ξένος ?
Not pretentious at all. Most unlike you.

How would you translate the word "stranger" into Greek?
Irrelevant.
