I'm DIY'ing the brickwork on the side of my house but the plans don't show a measurement for the height I'm going.

Obviously the higher the better for me but I don't want to go so high that the council think I'm taking the ****.

I was thinking to measure up from the RSJ that the front dormer wall will sit on up to the existing tiled roof and position the new side wall plate at a similar height to that.

Does that sound about right?

Do the (approved) plans not show it relative to the existing building though? Like soffit height or something
Are they not scale drawings so you can get a ruler out and measure?

That's a good idea. I could probably measure the outside on the drawing and add 200mm to get the inside height. Assuming the wall is 300mm thick and the roof is 45degrees

Turned out the wall plate dictated where it was built upto
