I have a crack on an internal wall. I took the plaster off, and it looks like the crack goes into the brick.

How should I repair this? "Deep gap" filler or brick mortar?

Thanks

It's difficult to see, we're a 5th floor flat so I can't easily get outside.

This is a load bearing external wall, with the roof above it.

When you say it's quite serious, does that mean the wall could fall down or just that the crack could spread?

It's hard to tell from a photograph and may look worse because the plaster has been knocked back. I agree with Chris though, an external inspection would be prudent. If its ok you can tape it, put a light coat of bonding plaster to just short of flush and then easifill, or if it's fairly shallow, tape and easifill.
Just a thought, have you got a mate with a drone? I think they use them these days for this type of thing, re inspection
