How the hell do you remove this DG panel? (Pictures)

It's externally beaded, remove the rubber, this loosens the glass, next go outside and flick the beads out

There are no beads, its the same inside as it is outside which I find strange?, never came across this

Apologies, it has beads on the outer, the window flips so you can work on the inside.

What is suggested you remove the rubber with? Can the rubber be reused?

Is the rubber just siliconed in

The rubber just pushes in and kind of clips in place, it can be eased out without flat scraper and is to be reused

So just a case of loosening up the one side with a scraper (the rubber) flip the window, chisel or scraper the beads to pop out, take rubber of the old panel, replace on to the new panel and do the process backwards basically.

In terms of taking measurements to a DG supplier, do you measure the PVC frame height and width after the beads are popped out?

...'take rubber of the old panel, replace on to the new panel'... :?:

Once the rubber on the inside is out flip the window over, gravity now should drop the glass away from the beads, remove these and the glass should lift out, the outer rubber is either built into the bead (co-extruded) or a seperate clip in rubber (firtree), either way it comes away with the bead and nothing is left on the glass, nothing is left on the panel or glass i assume you mean?

And in terms of measurng to take to a DG supplier, you measure the frame once the beads are out on the beaded side as it where H x W?

Measure from were you will slip your scraper in to remove the beads and deduct 10mm for both width and height, don't forget the dgu thickness too

Yes, from the frame after beads have been removed, on the beaded side we mesaure?

H x W, remove 10 mil and take thickness of glass itself

If your struggling to measure to complete thickness of the unit you might have to remove the beads and just lean the glass out to measure the thickness, thats both pieces of glass and the spacer bar, this is the overall thickness of the unit, this is what the glass shop will need and is expressed as --/--/--, in other words...glass/spacer/glass.

While the beads are out measure the glass width and height as well
