Hi
I have a disused fireplace which im planning on getting plastered etc so that i can put my video and other toys inside of it on shelves
The current width of the hole down to bare brick is 450mm
The plasterboard I've seen is 9.5mm thick
So once lined with plasterboard that would take the width of the hole to 431 mm
A piece of equipment that i am planning on installing is 425 mm
I realise that this is probably too tight, espcially once it has been skimmed also
Is there anyother way to do this?
I've seen MDF and plyboard is thinner than the 9.5mm plasterboard, but i presume that you cant skim onto MDF and plyboard?
can anyone help?
