It looks like the pump has given up as its not spinning at all and sounded awful.

So is changing the heating pump a DIY job. If anyone has any advice or step by step procedure as I fear finding a plumber to get this sorted ASAP will be difficult this time of year.

Thanks

It is but for a competent DIYer!

Let me explain...

Pump Vlvs may not work (are you confident to bung or drain system)
Can you undo unions to pump if they wont budge with usual tools?
If pump vlvs fail, can you replace with gate type vlvs?

Can be a half hour job or a 3hr job

Save yourself some time messing around with the valves if its an old system (they can be a right fiddly pain)and get new valves with new pump.
