Hi so slowly changing my skirtings and facings over to ogee and in this corner I am putting 70mm facing vertically but I only have 65mm return, skirting in pic is just to hold the next length but is the correct profile.
So how do I finish this corner ?
Thanks

You could use a manual mitre saw (or mitre box) at the appropriate angle - walls are rarely at 90 degrees. A sliding bevel set around the external corner will give a more precise angle which can then be bisected with help of a protractor to give you the angle of cut on each part of the skirting. Practising on off cuts of the skirting you're using will help to get the angle of cut as accurate as possible. Use a long length of skirting in the mitre saw when cutting the mitre, this length can then be cut down to size - 65mm if I understand correctly.

The state of the plaster on the reveal looks like it would be difficult to get a tight fit, even if the back of the skirting could be planed, so maybe its best to let it all stand a little proud from the wall and use filler.

Practice will indicate what is acceptable to you, and within your abilities, if not there is always the option of getting in a professional.

Cheers,

Blup
