How to hold this seat axle rod

I lost the cap/clip at the end of this rod:

This means the gear keeps slipping off.

What is this thing called/where can I source a widget that can keep this rod from slipping?

Have a google at Starlock push on locking washers......they could work for you.
I've no idea what the original fastening would be though!
