Thank you for replying and for the suggestion. It seems that it is applied with an acid etching solution so it looks like we're either stuck with it or will have to change the glass.
Thanks. I did look at that idea but the pattern is too pronounced - three different textures - that I'd lose all opacity getting anything dense enough to mask it. As I can't remove the glass without damaging the door, I think the door will have to go and I'll have to start again.
Etched glass is done with hydrofluoric acid (very very dangerous stuff). I can't see anyway your ever going to remove the pattern from the glass. Are you sure the glass can't be removed without damaging the door?
Thanks for suggestions on this. Bit the bullet an replaced the door - could only get plain glass factory fitted (shame) so using 'privacy' window film in plain etched style. Much better than ******ing about trying to alter the first one.
