Hi all,

I have an exposed brick wall in my house that became damaged. I wasn't too sure on how to fix it so I bought some mortar from B&Q and filled the gaps where the damage was. Looked great but now that it has dried its all bumpy and doesnt match too well to the previous mortar (See attached picture, the part on the left is new part I added). How can I smooth it down so the texture is smooth? I tried sanding it and it helps a little but not great. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

That looks looks flush pointing and if so is supposed to be rough.

What do the joints that you are trying to match look like?
