I've got double glazing upvc units and the 2 windows that face south frequently 'stick' shut presumably due to the heat from direct sunlight as no other windows are affected.
It's the black rubber seals that seem to stick to each other - one on the frame and the other on the opening window. So I open the handle and then have to use the base of my fist to gently hammer away around the window to get it to open. I get the same issue of seals sticking on my car boot if it hasn't been opened for a while. Question is, are there any products I can apply to the seals to prevent this? I believe many lubricants/greases aren't safe for use on rubber, although I'm not entirely sure what material the seals are, as they're not very soft. Any advice welcome!
