Hi everyone

we've just moved into a new house with an Ideal Boilers Icos m3080

All was fine for a week then we started getting occasional error codes LF (flame not recognised) and once LE (board error) and the boiler stopped. We pressed reset and the boiler came back to life. After a few days of this, the boiler would revert straight to the LF error code after being on for only one minute, so we essentially now have no heating/hot water

A contact of my husband has had a look at it, done a few servicing type things (topped something up, sorted the pump pressure) and replaced the circuit board (£250!!!) but it's still not working.

We're now getting error code H3 (or it might be 3H) which is not in the manual!

Does anyone know what this error code might mean?
Thanks
clare

Suggest you get your hubbies contact back pronto!!!! The circuit board has been set up for the Isar (combi) and it is telling you it cannot read any resistance from the domestic hot water thermister. (Cos u don't have one)

Thank you so much for the reply, it really is greatly appreciated!

We've told my husbands friend what you said and he thinks he's been given the wrong circuit board - is that correct?

Or are you saying that the part we've got needs to be configured differently?

Thanks again!
Clare

Circuit boards are all the same!!! You just change the link position to suit each boiler. M3080 has the ignition connection on the front.

Read the leaflet enclosed within the circuit board box and fit links accordingly.

Surely all these extra problems you are having are all because you did not use an experienced boiler engineer who would have known how to configure the new PCB for your model?
