Evening all,
My Ideal Elan 2, wall-mounted gas boiler has been working ok for a few years, but tonight has started experiencing problems firing up. It normally fires up and turns off as it sees fit for heating and hot water requirements.
Now, sometimes it fires up fine, but sometimes there's the first loud click (as normal), and then a quieter click (as normal) but no flames appear in the viewing window and the usual operating sounds can't be heard. Instead, the quieter click repeats itself over and over until the boiler eventually fires. Any ideas...?
The boiler is due a service so I'll be ringing my plumber tomorrow, but would appreciate an insight in the meantime if possible!
