I am hoping for a little help. My Ideal Isar is 5 years old and I must say it has had its fair share of problems over the years. The cost of repairs would have paid for a new boiler!!!!

This morning I awoke to no CH or DHW. The boiler was showing nothing on the digital diplay, so i switched it of and tried a restart. Nothing! I have no display nothing at all, there is obviously no pilot light.

Before I spend out a silly amount of money again. Can anyone give me advice as to what the problem might be.

Thanks

Check the the fused spur fuse, check the small fuse on the pcb, left hand side, if these are ok then defo the pcb, £310 last one I replaced fitted.
Get BG out on a fixed price repair.

Thank you for your quick respnses, they were very much appreciated.

I took your advice and called out BG, who will be here tomorrow. The inside of the boiler looked too complicated so I chose the easy option.

I also rang Ideal and gave them a piece of my mind. My boiler had 3 pcb's within the first year of installation (and an assortment of other parts), but there customer service is appalling!!!!!

Does anyone else on here have problems with their Ideal boilers, or am i a one off!!!!!

Once again thanks.

Be fair to Ideals customer service department...They must be worked off their poor feet dealing with cheesed of customers with kippered PCBs.. Not a job that I'd like to do.

I have 2 official complaints in process at present on behalf of my customers.

I am at present awaiting a call from their customer services manager, arranged via my rep.

Lots and lots of ideal isar combis fitted on the gov. grant scheme in liverpool. Lots and lots of faults on the boilers . Get yourself on the BG service contract. They are not a reliable boiler in my experience and my friend who fits them under sub-contract spec. agrees.
