My Ideal Mini C28 has started making a burning smell (similar to the smell you get on elements when you use a new toaster?). I'm completely in the dark with stuff like this.
Pressure valve shows around 0.8, lock out signal lamp is on red, green 'on' LED flases repeatedly.
Any ideas? :(

Is this a condensing boiler ( C28 HE ? ) ?

You seem to have an ignition lockout and if a smell it may have seriously overheated and done some burning of its parts.

The normal solution would be to call a competent boiler engineer to diagnose whats gone wrong.

Cheers man. It's a combi boiler. Looks like the pressure valve has leaked and the water has gone into the PCB, causing that to blow. A TCP like smell? British Gas are dealing with it (getting a replacement board for tomorrow).
Is this an easy fix for them or am I looking at a worse case scenario - worried a bit with it being Christmas and all that.

I am not so sure what has leaked.

But whatever has failed is a simple fix as long as the parts are available which they should be.

The cost can be £300-£400 if all PCB's fitted have been damaged.

The design does not usually allow that to happen. The ones that I have seen have all been flue installation faults.
