Yesterday I had to shut down and drain my Ideal Turbo 2 as the immertion heater had rotted, allowing water into the electrics. I replaced it with a blanking plug as I don't use it anyway.
After refilling the system the boiler kept cutting out. I traced this back to the overheat cut-off switches (awkwardly located inside the boiler). After this all seemed to be working well, although the water seemed hotter than usual - maybe it's just working properly now!
Since then I've noticed that even after the thermostat cuts off (on water only - CH off), the pump appears to be running constantly. I haven't touched the boiler apart from resetting the cut-off switches.
I think I've heard that some systems need to be switched off at the mains to reset - surely it's not that simple?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance
