Hi

We have just purchased an Ikea Mostorp Wall Shelf (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/...orp-wall-shelf-high-gloss-white-art-10295704/), and I need some advice on how to safely fit it to the wall.

It is 22kg, max load 35kg (although I don't think we'll load it up that much), and has 2 fixing points which look like this: https://imgur.com/a/P4uOE

The smaller section of the key hole bracket (part 103693) is 6mm wide, so will take a 5mm screw (and maybe a 6mm screw..?).

The wall is plastered brick (1960s ex council flat).

What fixings do you think I should use?

I found the below Fischer fixings (UX 10x60 R S), but the screws are too thick for the small part of the key hole bracket. Will that matter?

Thanks all!

They Ikea mounts are the same as used in their kitchen cupboard mounts. Screw you suggest could be used but would need a washer to help adjust evenly.
I would use a slightly smaller diameter but longer fixing (70-80mm).

Thanks. I've gone for Fischer UX8 with some pan head screws. I was having difficulty finding pan head screws long enough, but our old school local hardware shop had some. Walked in, showed the guy the fixings and back he came with the right ones - 12 x 2.1/2". I'll hang it when I can get a hand holding the thing up...

With those fixings you put screws in position with 10 mm protruding , place unit on screw and drop key plate over the end of the screw, then level and tighten . One man job.
