Part of the flue kit on our Powermax 135 boiler (which is otherwise working fine) has cracked in several places and is leaking condensation in the attic.

The manufacturer (Potterton) has told us this part is obsolete and (like the boiler itself) is no longer being produced, so we need to replace the whole boiler.

Can anyone suggest a potential source of obsolete/possibly second-hand boiler parts? We have tried several plumbers' merchants and part shops without success.

The part we need is a particular plastic "parallel connector" or adaptor that connects 2 pipes (diameters 70mm and 90mm) leading from the boiler downstairs to one pipe (diameter 130mm) that goes up to the rooftop. A plumber has told us it also contains carbon monoxide filters.

We have not dared to switch on the boiler since just before Christmas when we discovered the problem. If we do track down a replacement part, we'll employ a Corgi-registered plumber to instal it.

We'd be grateful for any tips, as it seems a pity to throw away the whole boiler and buy a new one just because of one part.

Thanks in advance!
